The challenge
Harlequin is an established brand in the world of interior design, and one of the biggest and most important in Sanderson Design Group’s portfolio. Although iconic and sought-after in its heyday, over time the brand had become associated with elements that were more flashy and superficial, resulting in a decline in popularity and sales waning. It was time to re-establish the brand to a new generation of younger more fashion-conscious consumers.
The Idea
Beige is boring. We needed to help a style-conscious audience ignore the bland and generic and uncover the confidence to express their true personality in their home. Whether you’re laid-back and chilled, daring and eccentric, determined and tenacious, Harlequin’s bold wallpaper and fabric design collections allow you to break the mould and ‘OWN THE ROOM’.
Ignoring category tropes of carefully propped rooms, void of any life, our print and digital campaign features three varied and distinct personalities. Each of them is styled to reflect the designs that surround them and captured at an extreme scale to bring confidence and energy to a world that’s often empty and passive. Shot by Carla Guler the work features in Red and Stylist, and featured across Channel 4, More4 and HGTV.
